Euro 2016 has been crazy. From Iceland thriving and Spain loosing, it has sure been fun to watch. I will recap the quarterfinal matches and leave predictions for the rest of the tournament.

Portugal Vs. Poland

The game started off  very exciting, with star Polish striker Robert Lewandoski scoring in the second minute, and Renato Sanches scored around 30 minutes later. The match was very boring until penalties, where Portugal scored five in a row. This was a snooze fest, and hopefully the next match will be a bit more exciting.

Wales Vs. Belgium

Wales dominated this match even with Belgium being in great form coming in, with a 4-0 win over Hungary. Radja Nainggolan scored early, but Wales were the controlled the rest of the match, scoring 3 goals. Even with this offensive onslaught, star Gareth Bale scored no goals in this match. Many expected Belgium to win, but the Welsh pulled the upset anyways.

Germany Vs. Italy

This was the most wild yet boring match at the same time. Not much happened this match besides the goal for Mesut Ozil and the penalty by Leonardo Bonucci. But the penalty shootout was wild. There were 9 rounds, the most in a penalty shootout in many years. Jonas Hector scored the winner for Germany, ending a match where neither teams played particularly well.

France Vs Iceland

This match has not yet occurred, but I strongly believe that France will win. Iceland has been in top form, but I think this is where the Icelandic Cinderella run ends. France is just too talented, and has the home advantage. Expect Paul Pogba and Dimitri Payet to play extremely well, but Iceland is sure to fight to the very end.

Wales Vs. Portugal

I expect this to be a very high scoring game. Ronaldo and Bale are two of the best, so I expect both of them to show up. Neither of the two teams have overly impressive defenses, but have potent attacks. Wales is on top form, and Portugal barely squeezed by a Poland team which many think should have won.

Prediction: 3-2 Wales

Ronaldo – 2 goals

Bale – 2 goals

Ramsey – 1 goal

France Vs. Germany

This could be the match of the tournament. These are arguably the two best teams in the tournament, the hometown heroes versus the world cup winners. Germany are coming off of a very hard fought game which could have gone either way, and will certainly have to clean things up. To make matters worse, they will be without centerback Mats Hummels. This will surely be a back and forth match, which could go either way.

Prediction: 1-1 France (Penalties)

Dimitri Payet – 1 goal

Julian Draxler – 1 goal

Final-Wales Vs. France

Wales will have been on an incredible run, and France will have beaten the top team in the world. Certainly both sides will give it their all. Bale will play like his life depends on it, and the French crowd could break the decibel record in a stadium. This could go either way, but I think the hometown French will be victorious.

Prediction: 2-1 France

Gareth Bale – 1 goal

Paul Pogba – 1 goal

Olivier Giroud – 1 goal
